ESQ has two main activities: an Austria-wide Postdoc Programme to support the integration of incoming experienced researchers and a Discovery Programme which enables highly innovative research beyond any traditional thinking.

ESQ is

• Funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF)
• Coordinated by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW),
  
• Operated in close partnership with 27 Austrian research groups at
  • the University of Vienna 
  • the Vienna University of Technology
  • the University of Innsbruck
  • the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW)
